Most of my named chickens come running when called, so they remember names fairly fine. Some choose to ignore.

I have two that I swear turn their heads or come when we say their names. The rest could care less and continue in with their day. But we can (and do daily) pick them all up and hold without them acting crazy.

I don't think any of the chickens I have now know their names because I only talk about them, not to them
Maybe three of them but I can't tell because they all come running when I am outside. The only one I call is Mama Toe to find out where she is and she doesn't listen. I'm sure the neighbors think I keep my mother in a shed in the back because every night I go out there calling "Mama, Mama?"

Chickens are very smart and can learn their names. Some do and some don't, just depends on the bird.

@BY Bob teaches all his chickens their names. He uses treats and says a hen's name while handing over a meal worm. It'll work best if the other hens are not paying attention to the treat.

I currently have three chickens who come to their own name. That's Rocky, Beth, and Shiloh. (Beth sometimes comes to Shiloh's name too. )
