Do chickens need water [inside their coop] overnight?
Interesting question...on one hand, they will not get down off the roost in the dark and drink it, so it would seem that they don't need it in there. However, are they locked inside the coop and thus relying on you, or some other human, to release them in the morning, thus providing them with access to water? If so, then consider the possibility of our complicated human lives interfering with our ability to let the chickens out of the coop in the morning. Suppose you have to make an unexpected trip to the emergency room, or you wake up dead, or you're abducted by aliens, or for any other reason you're unable to release the chickens in the morning. Do they need water inside the coop? Maybe so.
