Do chickens remember other chickens that died?

I was wondering this because out of my original flock of 8, only 4 are still alive. The other 4 died of cocci. They remaining 4 always act like they are searching for their lost friends, especially one named Pepsi. She always goes to the places they would hang out at and walks around it and goes to the next spot. But the weird thing is 2 times aday she will go and sit by their graves for about 10 minutes and walk away all sad-like, she has her head down and her wings droop. So I was wondering if it was a coincidence or is she really looking for them

I don't know, one of my original seven hens died (Cloteil) and she was very close to my other hen Kaycee, they went everywhere together. She died of natural causes and when she died Kaycee moped around for a few days and didn't want to play with the other hens or eat any treats I gave her. She eventually got better though.
