Do chickens sing the egg song for other chickens?

Yes and having a good rooster that's attentive to his hens causes no egg song at all. Kong waits while some of his favorite hens lay, so there's no need to 'call'.
In the wild this would not be considered a good thing, tho because he's abandoned the flock.
But for domesticated it's adorable.

What are these monkey noises? Is there such a thing as a normal chicken? Because there are times when I feel like mine are defective.

My Serama roosters will sit right beside and wait for their hen to lay an egg. It’s really cute seeing a teeny hen and rooster sharing a nesting box. Once the hen lays the egg and starts her squeaky squawk, most everybody (hen and roo) joins in with the egg song.
