Hi there - We are almost neighbors, I'm in Cedar Grove.
I was a new chick owner last Spring and the chicks liked to jump out of their brooder and lay on a rug in the sunshine and do a pretend dustbath. It was so funny, we got it on video. I never thought of giving them some dirt to do the real thing but I may try that when I get my new ones in April.

Now that I know what it is, the dust bath is hilarious! I'm gonna have to get my peepers some dirt so they can have a proper one.
That YouTube video is great.....its exactly what Emma was doing, except she was the only one, and all the other chicks were looking as her like she was posessed!
