Do roosters/cockerels do the all over body shake like pullets/hens? I've only owned hens, so I don't know.
My two and a half week old EE/BR does this hen shake after I hold it several times now. My older hens do it constantly, but not until before they laid their first egg. I did vent sex carefully and did not see a "bump" on this chick(Willow). The other chick I vent sexed had a bump and at 2.5 weeks has a pink comb. The boy Stormy is so sweet too.
I'm really praying this is a pullet sign. I'm naturally obsessed finding out the gender. I hatched this chick myself, but I am having doubts its a female since the comb is on the larger size. It's not pink like it's brothers comb, so there's a small glimpse of hope. Anyways, these chicks are super chicks and the boy is 80% feathered already. They both have head feathers coming in at 2 weeks. Talk about fast feathering!
Here's Willow that does that shake after holding and petting. I really want my two EE/BR to be female. I love, love, love, the looks of them.
