Do Delawares grow fast?

I'm not talking about Cornish cross fast but was wondering if they are processing age by 16 weeks? Would feeding them higher protein food for a few weeks before slaughter help them get bigger ?

Delawares grow at about the same rate as most dual purpose breeds. My recommendation for butchering them is about 14 weeks. I think this is probably the best balance between an adequate amount of meat, and still being tender. Feeding them high protein food will definitely contribute to their size.
