Some people with chicken egg allergies use duck eggs. I researched ducks for my yard. After tasting duck eggs, I decided it wasn't for me.
The duck eggs has a different protein make up. It possibly doesn't have what is causing the histamine response that causes the medical emergency. This being said your child could be allergic to both and consult your doctor and be cautious. Just in case your child is horribly unlucky have epi-pen and benadryl handy and try in small amounts and consult the doctor before you do. If your child has a allergic reaction please take him to the closest emergency room/call 911. I am just a mere former army medic.
Some people are allergic to all nuts and some are only allergic to specific nuts. So it has been known that some people have been able to eat duck and not chicken.
If he is severely unlucky there is a vegan egg substitute
The simple form of why duck eggs are substitutes, duck eggs are not chicken eggs. Therefore are less likely to cause the allergy but still very possible and it depends on what exactly he is allergic to.
Also consult the doctor about possible allergy shots to get rid of allergy. Allergy shots train the immune system to go from "oh no it's eggs" to "this is tuesday"
