Do ducks need water during night?

I have my 2 week old rouens in a 12x6 dog run, and they are in a large dog carrier at night. When I put water in the carrier with them at night, they drench the bedding. Do I have to put water in with them at night? Is there a way to keep thier bedding dry?

I have read as long as there is no food in with them to choke on.

they don't need food or water at night. Like Henry said.. if they have food, they need water.
