I have a variety of chickens (see varities below). I have a total of 11, but one is currently on the brink of death and obviously is not laying. So that means I have 10 pullets all capable of laying. I'm getting 8 eggs a day and they are all cream colored to brown. So either my 2 EEs are laying non-green eggs, or they are not laying at all. What do you think? I work all day so rarely do I get to see/hear an egg being laid, so I can't tell...any info? Thanks in advance!

In my experience and from what I've read of others experience, EE's tend to lay later than most other hens. Mine usually start laying at about 20-21 weeks.

I'm guessing you'll have to wait untill you know which one laid the eggs. Or maybe set up a video camara. But I've read that the color that they lay will just get darker. Not change to a different color.

From what I know about EEs, it could be either scenario. EEs are capable of laying cream colored eggs, as they are a mixed breed.

I have 3 E's. They all look different in their feather colorings. They all lay blue and green eggs and have done so from the beginning. Some days the colors differ some but they are always in the blue or green spectrum. They also started laying later than the others, at about 26 weeks.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Where did you get your EE's? I got my two EE's from Ideal and I get 1 blue egg and 1 green egg. They started laying at about 20-21 weeks. I just got 3 more EE's today...so I'll have to wait about 20 weeks to find out what colors their eggs are
