Do ee's mature early?

It surprised me when my bantam ee roo started crowing around 6-7 weeks... and it REALLY surprised me today when, at 10 weeks, he's trying to mount the pullets he's in with. I also saw my standard ee roo (no crowing from him yet) try to mount as well. What is it with ee's? I thought I'd at least have 6-8 more weeks before this all started.

I have 9 month olds that still haven't laid an egg nor mounted a chicken.
 
ONE of mine began laying at 19 weeks. The other ten are still thinking about it.
