Yes, they do have a different feel to them.

It's the effect of the weight being dispersed more evenly at the beginning and as the air cell grows in one end and chick in the other, when you pick it up if feels heavier because the weight has shifted to one end rather than taking up the entire egg. It's like an optical illusion but with "feeling"...

Ahhh...this makes sense. I argued with my husband about this...I said they gained weight, he said "no, how could they?" Well, I started weighing them, and yes, they weigh less the closer they get to hatching. Now I understand why I still 'feel' they're heavier!!​
