Do Geese Fly?

My geese that are crossbred with my greylags can all fly and i nearly lost one of my white greylag ganders this year and i nearly lost him until i clipped his wings and i can tell ya that africans will never ever be capable to fly coz they are too fat and heavy and most cant even jump hign or even jump!

my embdens sometimes get a few inches to a foot off the ground... but nothing I'm worried about
Mine are smaller than embdens, and can fly a tad. Mostly when they´re in their first year, afterwards they don´t really bother although they can get off the ground if they want. This morning about 5 of my 4-month-old gozzies took off and flew just a bit, then landed (thankfully) back on our land on the grass or in the pond. Once one of my mix-geese (small) flew about 20 ft up or so and landed in the lane, I had to go and retrieve her. I think she frightened herself, she never did it again!

my scovies do that before I get their wings clipped
Oh, I love to watch my muscovies flying! My neighbour has a very large clump of bamboo in one of his fields and sometimes my ducks do a fly-by, and then a pass-over of another neighbour´s fishing pond, then back on the home-run, splash-land in the pond, then all the geese give their applause and shout for an encore! I love to see them.

I have a pair of Toulouse/African ganders that can fly pretty well, if sufficiently motivated. I also have a few smaller sized Africans that can fly a few feet off of the ground for short spurts. The rest of my geese cannot make it off of the ground. My muscovies fly really well. I love watching them fly and I've never had to worry about them leaving my property or accidentally landing on the road.

My muscovies don´t accidentally land anywhere...they´re amazing at maneovering aren´t they? It was one lil goose that didn´t realise how high she´d flown that landed on the lane.
Now serv says his Africans are far too big to fly...do you think maybe he should cut back on their potato chips and guiness?!
