Now that the Pekins are 25 weeks old they have both been leaving eggs in the duck house. Just a few days ago I again saw Laytex trying to mount Vinyl in the pool and it really had me doubtful. But for the past 2 days there have been TWO eggs in their little house each morning.
It makes me glad to know I was correct in vent-sexing these ducks when I bought them at the feed store. I was wrong once before when vent-sexing ducks that were hatched here. We're also getting better at voice-sexing ducks, being able to detect the differences in their calls from an early age.
These 2 girl Pekins sure make a LOT of noise, especially first thing in the morning when everyone is clamoring to be let out of their cages & houses. I usually let the Pekins out first just to get them to be quiet!
