Last summer we had a broody hatch some eggs, and one egg had been snuck in about 1 week late. I took pity on it and managed to hatch it under a lamp in the house. Because of the age difference i couldnt return her to the hen & older siblings. So i ended up raising her. To this day she would rather be with people then the flock. She will come running at 1st sight, she wants to be held, or sit on my shoulder like a parot and ride around, will follow me everywhere like a dog. Even will sit on my little girls lap as her sibling pulls them around the yard in a wagon. Lately ive noticed she seems to be possessive of me. I was talking to my dad outside and she was beside me and proceeded to posture like a rooster and peck and spur him until he moved off further away. Is this behavhaior common?? Or do i have an overly affectionate girl that my wife should be concerned of? Lol
Attached is a mini collage of Bartholomew ( yes the kids named her upon hatch and hence the boys name that stuck)
