This week is the first I noticed the chickens are crowing in the morning. Starting probably about 6 - 6:30 am. I have no idea which are boys or girls...Are the ones crowing roosters or can they be hens ? And how and when can I tell for sure?? I think Eva might be Evan....

With chickens, there are always exceptions, so yes, there are crowing hens. However, it is very rare and you can pretty much bet that all of the ones crowing are boys.

On the rare occasion when hens crow, it is usually because there are no roosters around and haven't been for some time.

So True

Post some pics in the 'what breed or gender is this' section I am sure byc people will shed some light as to which ones are roosters.
