I wanted to know if hens will ever make rooster noises? Has anyone ever heard of this? Any input would be appreciated

Yes, though it will not sound like a mature rooster, ever. If all you have are hens, one could take the role of the leader/protector and stop laying eggs and sounds like it is crowing.

I'm new to this site and to chickens but JUST the other day I read an article somewhere called "Do hens really crow?" I don't remember if it was a post on this site or an article on some other site (I've been doing a lot of chicken research!), but the general point of the story is that yes, hens can "crow". I don't remember any of the details as to why, but I thought it was interesting and moved on in my reading.

When not laying Lacy crows. She will look the rooster right in the face and crow at him. I think it just confuses him, so he leaves her alone. Once she starts laying again she quits crowing.

Lacy's crow is a perfect crow. Exactly the same a full grown rooster, just a bit softer. She is a bantam cochin.
