Our Rhode Island Red's started laying yesterday at about 12 pm. So I went out toay expecting eggs but there was none :(. Will they lay everyday?

Once your hens get into the hang of laying you can expect 2 eggs from 3 hens a day (give of take an egg every now and then). Don't worry it's normal for hens to skip a day even the best egg laying breeds. :)

No, some hens lay every other day, some lay every two days, some lay less than that, and some lay every day. it matters the hen and how shes made, and the breed.

Even the very best, the very top laying hybrids and top laying commercial type Leghorns "only" lay 320 egg per pullet laying year. That still means those birds take a few days off every month. The average for a good laying, dual purpose type bird is somewhere around 220 eggs per year. That still leaves 145 days off per year, or 2 or 3 days off per week.

Short answer? NO. They do not lay every day.
