Chickens don't use smell to identify, so they aren't getting used to his scent. They can barely smell.Nope. The rooster isn’t even incooperated into my flock yet haha. He has a separate pen next to the hens so that they get use to his scent- and they’ve all picked up laying. Them being less stressed with him around is the only thing I can figure out as to why
It's another reason that happens to be coinciding, there's no reason that the very presence of a male speeds up the hormone cycle. It ovulation, only hormones (controlled by light and nutrition) can affect it.
