It's that stare a chicken gives you when they're wondering whether they should trust you or not. I get it regularly from my roo when I'm handling HIS girls.

Yesterday for the first time I saw one of my white faced black spanish hens raise her hackle feathers! She must have been upset with my frizzle roo! I have never ever seen a hen do that.
