We very sadly lost one of our ducks on Monday...she was a 5 month old Cherry Valley and was a star. We had a post mortem done on her as she died so suddenly and she had perforated her stomach with a nail. We have no idea where this nail came from but as all my chucks & ducks free range, it could've been anywhere. My big question is this....she was purchased as a trio with another Cherry Valley and a Khaki Campbell, all girls. We then added 3 Swedish Black's, which were meant to be 1 drake & 2 Ducks....they turned out to be only 1 duck and 2 drakes. I now gave an imbalace of 2 boys to 3 girls but my main worry is that the 2 cherry valley's were inseparable, the khaki Campbell floats between the two groups but the cherry valley is on her own 50% of the time....do I add more girls or leave things be? I'd prefer not to remove the drakes if I can get away with it
. Sorry to waffle on but I would really appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance
