Hey, I've been going through posts for some help, and just wondering if you ended up giving your chickens just the 50ml a day per bird, the 300ml in your case, and then no more water til the next day or top up with more antibiotic water? I have the same right now as I have 7 that I'm treating and I don't want to leave them with only 400ml of water a day unless it's what the directions areI have 5 x 12 week old chics with a upper respiratory infection. My question is do I feed them their water soluble antibiotics as the only source to drink from for 5 days or do I put fresh water out for them once they have got through the antibiotic water and only do the medicated water once daily? They seem to love the antibiotic water and are going through it very quickly. Thx.
What antibiotic are you using? I would try to mix more water than they take, or mix some extra and keep in the fridge to top off your waterer if they drink it all. The best way to medicate chickens in my opinion is to give it orally in the correct dose which can be calculated depending on the medicine. Only sick birds showing symptoms should get the antibiotics.Hey, I've been going through posts for some help, and just wondering if you ended up giving your chickens just the 50ml a day per bird, the 300ml in your case, and then no more water til the next day or top up with more antibiotic water?
