Hello all
You may remember my Smudge story. Cute abandoned day old chick I rescued hoping it would be a girl. Smudge started crowing at 8 weeks old and is now 13 weeks. I hadn't weighed him till this morning for his wormer, and he is 0.84kg/ 1.84lbs. My golden comet hens were much bigger at this age so I wondered if he might be a bantam? We have all kinds of ferals on the island so it's hard to tell, and I've also never had chickens till I got my two girls in december. If anyone has an idea I would be very grateful.

He's a product of freely mixing adults if he came from the feral population. There probably were bantams and standards at some point but chickens just see other chickens and will undo the selection process that resulted in their ancestors being of different sizes.

I'd expect that he's about 3/4 of his full adult size at this point.
