Do I have a Broody??? More questions please help..

Sounds like things are going well!

Broodies don't lay. They don't eat much, so they are conserving their energy for hatching. Yes, she will turn the eggs.

ok everyone, more questions, hope you can still help me... Well, my mom came over today to watch my kids, and she told me that "Pepper" got off of her nest for about 1/2 hour today. I was wondering if that is too long...Do they know how long they can leave the eggs? She hasn't left at all tonight though. Thanks!

Not too long IMO. Especially in the summer.

Not too long at all. There was a BYC member here who's hen flew over the run for somewhere around 8 hours. She got her back in and she went back to setting on the eggs, and all of them hatched. So don't worry, they'll be fine.

Mags, my broody gets off for about 2 hours a day! I did have 1 day where she didn't get off at all though. It's 95 degrees here so I'm not too worried.

Even will her afternoon ciesta the eggs are still developing! I was very worried at first, but now I think the breaks are fine, she seems to know what she's doing.
