These babies are our little hybrids : Wishbone and Pox ! Pox is the smaller/older one, Wishbone is the larger/younger chick!
The smaller baby is about 5 bordering 6 days old and the bigger one is a day younger. Mum is a Black Bantam Cochin Frizzle and we think dad was our White Leghorn Barn Mix. Opinions? Is Pox a frizzle? (My kids name ALL our birds funny "chicken themed" names lol)

Yeah, it's still a bit too early to tell. I was able to tell my black bantam cochin frizzle was a frizzle by 2 weeks old. I'm sure the signs were there earlier, but I wasn't even expecting her to be a frizzle. She really surprised me. She was also raised by a hen and I didn't spend as much time with her as I do with my brooder chicks.

By the way, I absolutely love Pox's color. I breed silkies and I'm really trying to get the paint color into my flock, because it's one if my favorite colors.

Here's what my frizzle looked like at slightly over 2 weeks:

Ty for your input! It seems to happen when my white (leg horn) rooster mates with a black frizzle or a dark gray hen (not sure what her breed is. ) It has happened twice now. The other one is older and has way more black spots, including her beak, feet and several spots on her feathers. I can add a pic tomorrow if you want.

I only posted because my 11yo daughter is hoping and praying that pox has the gene lol. I told her it was likely too early, but I'd try haha. I'll post more pics in a week. Cross your fingers and feathers for her pls lol
