My 12 week old Bantam Roo, Prince Charming has not been too charming lately. He's practicing his cocka-doodle-doo's every morning and getting better. But he is also pulling my pullets tail feathers. I have 3 GSL's and one other bantam that I am not sure if it is a boy or girl yet. I've seen him to it three times in as many days, only to the big girls, not the other bantam. I don't get home until 6:30 so I only see them for a short time in the evenings and am not sure if he's torturing them during the day. I have not seen more feathers than usual in their coop and run.

After one tail pulling incident last night, I picked him up - he tried to bite me but did not run from me. I had an eye to eye and heart to heart with him about his unacceptable behavior. I'm not sure it did any good. I'm seriously thinking of changing his name to Napoleon!

Is he trying to bully them and do you think this will only get worse? Should I separate him from them during the day? He would not have much room if I do that though. Any advice would be great - thanks!

Not necessarily mean (I think he's probably just trying to catch/mount them with regards to the tail pulling), but definitely hormonal. He's entering his angsty pubescent period and may be quite the psycho hornball for a few months. If he's stressing your girls and/or actually hurting them, segregate him until he's through his "maturing" and then try re-introduction.
