Do I have a Roo?

I heard one of them attempting to crow this morning and said to myself o god I have a rooster...lol...can u tell me if my little one is a male or just has a funky tail, its always to the side.

The buff one definitely is also male.

How many total are we looking at? 6.

Ouch, that hurts! Especially if this is your first chicken adventure.
I have 9 chickens total, and I think I have 6 of them r males. If I port individual pics could someone tell what sex they are? The farm I got them from said if I got any roosters she would switch them out for hens...hope she doesn't freak out when I bring back 6 + chickens.

Yes, try to number them or something and make them standing, side profile shots so we can see saddle feathers. If you notice the long pointy feathers on the ones you know are boys, that is one of the easiest identifiers and then couple with comb/waddle development.

I excel at hatching boys and my own personal rate has been 7 out of 9 boys! And then 1 of the 2 females in that group was then taken by a predator.

That's nice that they are willing to trade for females. :thumbsup

Three cockerels pictured here. Look at the feathers on the backs of the birds. Do you see how each one has very thin, pointed feathering, completely different from the shape of the feathers everywhere else? Those are male specific saddle feathers. Females would have back feathers that are the same shape as the feathers on the chest, broad and rounded.
