DO I HAVE A ROOSTER? (PICS ADDED)

Boy for sure.

I bought an Ameracauna, too, but it was an EE.

Ameracaunas have a breed standard and accepted colors, etc.
Easter Eggers are usually Ameracauna crosses that lay colorful eggs.

Lucky you, he is a good looking boy!

Ameracauna are only sold thru breeders. Hatcheries only sell EE no mater what they advertize. The only time when you will find differnet is when they list the color like black ameracauna. But is no color is listed it is an EE.

Isn't it kind of sneaky, then, that they have a picture of an Ameracauna to illustrate the birds they sell when they are actually selling EEs?

My EE have the look of ameracaunas around the neck feathers, but came in various colors. The feed store sold them as aracaunas, but I knew better from reading info on hatchery web sites. The hatcheries are pretty honest about admitting the chickens are bred strictly for egg color and not for show. And I will chime in, looks like a roo to me too.

So are there any accepted colors for Easter Eggers?
For instance, the red in the middle, and the gray and silver on the far right are all EE. Are there any specific names for these colors besides what I just said?
