Do I have a rooster??

If you're new to chickens, and have small children, I'd advise getting rid of the rooster. Yes, he's absolutely beautiful, but roosters aren't good pets and roosters and small children don't mix well at all. He's pretty enough you should be able to rehome him on Craigslist or something similar.
