Do I have another Roo? EE this time... *New Pics*

A good close up of the comb will reveal a lot. Three rows and the odds are its a boy. One of my eggers had a very large comb from early on but it wasn't a three row....she is a for sure girl now at the age of 12 weeks.

Well, I don't know anything about these "rows" you're talking about... do you mean three rows of the raised part/bumps on the comb? Had I read this before I was down there taking pics, I would have tried to get one looking straight down from the top- although getting any pics of this particular chick is difficult. These are a few new ones I got...

In the second pic, I noticed that the color of the comb is about the same as my 10 week old barred rock's comb (at least in the pic)...don't know if that means much, though.

Girl. She looks exactly like one of mine. My vote is that she is just developing a little early.

Males have three distinct rows of "bumps" in their comb. There are some examples of girls with a three row comb but it is very rare. As best as I can tell your bird only has one row....I'm still saying pullet.

Here's some pics trying to center in on the comb, the first 4 are my boy see how his comb is broader and in some of the older shots you can see 3 parallel rows on the comb. Even very young you can still see the rows just very small

Here is a contrast of girl combs some larger and smaller almost smooth even though some are as broad as Oreo's they are much smoother.

Hope that helps.

This girl is older then yours but shows they can have a bigger comb when I looked at the pics I posted I saw I only posted the tiny combed girls

I say girl. As said before, the coloring pattern is that of a female. Males have more of a patchy look.

Thank you so much for all of the pictures and explanation of the "3 rows".

I think she looks to only have one row, so I'll just keep an eye on her development and keep my fingers crossed that we're right and she's a she!
