I'm passingly familiar with the history and controversy of this breed in America as well as the lack of pure stock so I don't want to flame up on that. I'm wondering if I can ethically call my birds onagadori (append proto or american as the prefix if you choose) based on their physical characteristics. My BBR is only 10 months old so I can not judge his molting but I am impressed with his color and tail growth and want to see what others think about his form. Lets assume his tail doesn't molt...does he meet the physical characteristics of onagadori? When I ask the question I'm referring to the quality that can be expected in the US. I guess another way of phrasing it is, if you believe there are some predominantly onagadori descendants in the US, would mine qualify as one? Thanks!
