Do I have to add extra niacin to Purina Flockraiser crumble? My call duckling is almost 6 weeks old. If I am feeding him Purina Flockraiser crumble from now on, do I need to add a spoonful of extra niacin daily to his feed?

My Kalmbach's Flock Maker says it's complete for ducks. I was already feeding it to all baby chicks and adult chickens, so when the two ducks got dropped off here, I read the bag, and it had it on there "complete for ducks."

Take a look at your bag in the small print, maybe to see if it says.

The need for niacin is very important, especially while they are growing, so if they're eating lots of other stuff besides their food, then they wouldn't be getting enough, and they could have leg troubles.

Supplementing is necessary if feeding chick crumbles or layer feed, but duck feeds and my Kalmbach's FM I know have enough in it.

We do buy frozen peas for ours though. Those have niacin in, but mostly because they have so much fun getting them out of the pool. :)
