I have a DIY incubator at home- it is basically a heating pad inside a pillowcase inside a plastic tub with air holes in the lid. It has a small bowl of water to keep it humid and a small towel over the eggs to trap the heat near them. Overall, the incubator works really well. What I was wondering was if I had to take the small towel off the eggs during lockdown. I'm worried that if the chicks hatch under the towel the would suffocate or something. I mean it's not tightly wrapped around the eggs, just thrown over the tops. What should I do?
