I just got my order of chicks today. Two were dead in the box and one has curled up feet. Should I let them know? Is this a lot of chicks to have problems out of an order of 37 chicks?

No, only 2 dead is not unusual. But yes, call the hatchery. Some hatcheries will issue refunds for birds that arrive dead.

Yes, the hatchery needs to know if you had problems upon arrival. They will either send replacements or give you credit toward your next order. Especially, imho, they need to know about the curled toes and if you have any more losses within just a day or two of arrival.

OK, I let them know and sent pictures.
I have the chicks in the brooder with sugar water and food. Most seem to be recovering well, but some I don't know about. I will keep an eye on them.
Thanks.

I will be getting a credit on my CC for them. I don't know how much as I can't tell what chicks died or what kind the crippled one it. I got several different kinds and some were more then others. But getting something back is better then getting nothing back.
Thanks for the help.
