Hi I have two runs side by side and a door that makes them one big run. My husband built me a coop to hold at least 30 chickens if not more. It’s 8 feet long and 5 feet wide without nesting boxes added into that and 2 feet off the ground so they can go under it. This is in the bigger half of the run with my og flock. On the smaller side I have one of those small coops from Walmart you know one of those not really big enough like they claim. Well I got 5 new babies and they will be separated in the small side so everyone gets to see and get to know each other before I open the door and take out the 2 middle panels.

Since the one my husband built is more then big enough ( 9 og hens 5 new chicks) do I need to have both coops once they are all intergreated?

Oh and should add new coop has 2 roosting bars the full 8 feet length

good plan for introductions! you should keep the smaller coop, in case you have more chicks in the future.
I’m keeping it but was going to place it out of the run. I already have more chickens than I’m supposed to. So I wont be able to have any more til I get land.
