Do I need mealworms?

Mine DONT like them so I don't bother with them. Think of them like candy or gum for children . Not necessary at all I give wet mash ( soaked food) and soaked grain( wheat, barley) that if done right turns into green grass. I also give the cabbage , shredded or cut in half and hung for entertainment. There is also recipes for flock blocks to make at home.

Mealworms are mostly used for treats, just like table scraps should be. Best results come from giving them a balanced feed with the proper vitamin and protein content with minimal treats. Plus oyster shell, if there is not calcium in the feed already.
My chickens love soldier worms! Rattle the bag and they come a running! So fun and such good protein for them. Seems I always have one or two hens that want to stay out in their run when I want to close them in their coop. Our second garage is now a barn as my husband built a large coop in there. Spoiled chickens!! We just rattle the bag.
