In all seriousness now...lol. I would want more than one nipple available w/9 chicks. I've seen waterers with several nipples attached, so it wouldn't have to be adding another waterer. Having more than one water source also helps the lower birds, who often get bumped from food/water.

What about mounting extra waterers outside of the brooder ? I attached some tubing to the waterer nipples so and threaded the tube through a hole so the chicks could reach the waterers nipples...Without taking up any space in the brooder. It was also easier to refill and changeout. I think many sources of water is always better than 1.

Yes, I agree. Especially after reading the replies to this post. I have two nipple waterers in the small brooders but am in the process of putting a watering system as you mentioned into the larger outdoor brooder. It will house all 27 of the chicks with a pvc watering system. The holding tank will sit outside the brooder with the hose that feeds the pvc running into the brooder. It will then attach to the pvc pipe with 4 nipples. I've designed it in such a way that when the chicks graduate to the coop the watering system goes with them. It will cut down on expense. Thanks so much for all the input and the fun!

I have been using flexible clear hosing. It allows me to feed it through and around something and still have flow where pvc pipe is great for traversing large spaces or burying underground.

I used a plastic cat litter bin and got a copper connection piece then threaded the clear tubing to it and down to where I needed the waterer. I can move it easily too. The plastic cat litter bin was something I already had anyway.
