do i need nest boxes and perches in my chicken house?

You dont have to have nest boxes and roosts in the house. But if its big enough Id at least have a roost in it.

If you don't have nest boxes all your eggs will be on the pooey muddy ground, also it may be hard to train the chickens to use a nestbox later on if you get tired of pooey muddy eggs.

Chickens naturally want to roost. They would be much happier if you enable them to do it. Also it keeps their feet off the cold muddy pooey ground, and their feathers out of their poo. (You are giving them some sort of semi-indoors out-of-the-rain-and-wind shelter, too, yes?)

Really, it is DEAD EASY to make a roost, and for a nestbox you can even just chuck a plastic rubbermaid container or milkcrate or etc in there. I can't see why there would be any point in depriving your chickens of a roost or making your life harder by foregoing a nestbox

Good luck, have fun,
