Pit sand grit (construction grade washed and dry)

Would play sand work? Or is that what pit sand is? Like quikrete play sand washed. I have it in my fish tanks so I'm pretty sure it's safe. When it's washed it turns coarse.

Play sand is very fine can impact them ..also fish tank stones are colored and I've tank which has stones seems like rocks but they are plastic . I got a bag of pit from construction filed I wash it and drain the fine sand so I got these pebbles

Are there any feed stores near you that might carry grit? It's not expensive and a bag will last a long time. I think it's worth the peace of mind knowing they have access to grit that's the right size and hardness.

I use the play sand in my fish tank. But all I find when I look up pit sand is Quikrete all purpose coarse sand. Do you think that would work?
