Do i need to help this duck

Hi
This little ducking has been stuck like this for about 4 hrs ... he is not making much noise any more and is looking very tired ... should i help him or just leave him ?
He did pip on his own but didn't break through the membrane and it was white and started to go yellow so i took some shell away after reading up on advice on here .. im not sure what to do now ???

There looks to be blood still there so the duckling is not ready to hatch yet. Exactly how many hours has it been since it made its initial external pip?

It needs more time... ducklings take *forever* to hatch... rule of thumb is 24hrs from internal pip to external pip, and 24hrs from external pip to zip... if it is making yawning/gasping motions, it is still absorbing yolk... it will start struggling like crazy once it is ready...

I totally agree with @Ravynscroft Plenty more time is needed before it hatches. Good luck

Thank you so much for all your help .... i now have another problem... this little guy hatched YAY !!
But he has not absorbed all his yolk sack ??? I dont know what to do ?? Will he be ok ???
