My little rooster is about 6 months old. He is a very handsome easter egger and we mostly have no problem with him. I have 5 kids 2-12 years. Lately he has attacked my two little girls 3 times. Do I need to re-home him or is there hope? Will he just get worse?

I still have childhood trauma from having been chased and attacked by the rooster while going in to collect eggs. Children and roosters don't mix well, especially once he has started showing aggression. I would remove the cockerel.

Don't take chances with your children's safety. He has to go.

Human-aggressive roosters attack at eye-level on a child -- they can be permanently maimed or blinded.

If you are at all capable of it, or if you know someone who is capable of it, do not rehome him where he might attack and injure someone else. Kill him and eat him instead.

Thank you guys. It's hard to think clearly as a first time chicken owner. And my kids are pretty attached to him and sad to think of him going. But we will try to arrange for him to go to a family that doesn't have children and is up for the challenge.
