I have a 4 week old (will be 5 weeks on Thursday) Delaware. She's supposed to be a pullet, and I just wanna make sure. I believe she was stunted with her growth a while back since she was not growing much at all when she was a wee little thing, so please keep that in mind. What is concerning me are her wattles... they're turning red already which I heard happens to roos, but I dunno, maybe it's normal for the gals too. Her comb is still a neutral color.

Aww really? I was hoping my concerns were just from needless over-worrying, heh. If that's the case, maybe lil Gia was never stunted, just a slow-growing boy. Such a shame, he is the friendliest one of the bunch, but I can't keep a rooster in the city.

Well thank you for letting me know, I do appreciate it!

i would wait till at least 8 weeks for a more positive id although with those wattles i want to lean towards cockerel

Cockerel, his tail is getting lengthy, (another sign usually of a rooster) and like Nurse Turtle said, think legs and developing wattles.

Now my little Delaware is 3 months old. Here are some updated photos, I'd like to know if the general consensus is still cockerel:

So... still male? Or is it starting to look like a gal?
