Do I Spy Some Roos?

Buff Orps tend to get nice sized red combs on hens and if they are 12 weeks old - I definately say you have all girls in those pictures. - no red at all yet, no noticable wattles, no high combs yet (but they will start blossoming on them girls soon so do not panic if in a month they all start sprouting nice reddening combs @ 16+ weeks old)

Lovely bunch you have there by the way!

100% Pullets, believe me. You'll know for sure when you have a roo... Unless you get that one irritating chicken that get's split votes from everyone and shares both roo and hen characteristics... >.>

Trust me at 12 weeks you would know if you had a rooster. Ive ended up with 7 this year. All rehomed but 3 and 1 is going when he is a little bit bigger.
This is my BR roo at 12 weeks

Huh. My first chickens were really late maturers. You figure it took them 22-27 weeks to lay -- and they were BRs, RIR, BSL, RSL and EEs. The BOs are really maturing fast by comparison. They hang out with my EEs because my EEs are actually pretty mild.

Thanks for the input. I guess I really CAN pick pullets from a group of straight run chicks that are 2-4 weeks old.
