I have been waiting about 24 hours for a couple of pipping ducklings to hatch out. I can see fluttering movements when I candle so I know there is life. Im just concerned because after breaking the shell a bit there has been no further shell breaking. I thought for sure they would be out of their shells this morning.
Should I intervene? Or should I say, when should I consider intervening?

I am not a hatcher, but from what I read, it takes quite a while for ducklings to make the great escape. Those shells are thick, and it can take more than a day from the time they start, if I recall correctly from what I have read here.

Thank you. I decided to at least break open the place where the pip was so the duckling could get oxygen. Both are resting but at least have air. while they do so.
