I have always hatched small batches, and the actual hatch dates for each batch have always spanned two to three days. So imagine my surprise when this last batch, my largest yet at 21 eggs, all hatched within the same 36 hour span, most of them within the 18 daylight hours of a single day. The strange thing is that some pips started 48 hours before hatching, and others just a few hours before hatching, and yet they all actually hatched at close to the same time.
Sooo... do larger batches somehow synchronize their hatching? Anyone else had the same experience with larger batches? Or was it just a fluke this time? I'd love if it were true--very convenient to get the actual hatching done with all in one day.
