do males fight at all?

i’ve recently gotten some quail… i’m unsure if the males will fight over females or not. i do have two males so i’m wondering if i should split them up at some point. thank youu!!

i’m pretty sure i have coturnix quail too (idk if that changes the answer or not)

Yes, they absolutely will. It will get bloody, and if the ratio isn't right they will kill each other. For coturnix, you want one roo to about five hens. Most of the other types of quail work in pairs.

If you have coturnix, even if you have the right ratio, if you want to keep more than one male, you need to make sure they have lots of space and plenty of hiding places.
