Quail gender

I have a white 11 month old coturnix quail. I bought her when she was 6mo and she was sold as a female. However I’m not sure anymore if she’s a female. Her behaviour sometimes is similar to what my males was. He would run to sit on the egg after the female had laid it. My white female does the same. She also hasn’t started laying any eggs yet and the other 2 do. Can someone clarify please?

This one is not feather sexable. You will need to vent sex.

If she has ever laid en egg, the vent will look horizontal and wide.

A male will have a smaller vent, there will be a bulge below it, and if you gently push on it, he will produce foam. If he is not sexually active, you may not get any foam.
