Hi,
I was wondering if my 7 week old chicks still need grit. We already moved them outside. can they get their grit from outside?

Thanks!

If they are outside and have access to dirt or sand i wouldn't give them any grit. I only give girt when the ground is frozen and they can't get to the dirt.

What type of chicks are they? If they are outside and theres dirt and bugs don't, But if they are in a closed area with no access to dirt then yes.
Sorry hopefully this helps!!

We have light brahmas, a australorp, red star, Delaware, and a white rock.

If they are only eating chick feed, they don't need grit. Otherwise, if they are getting any non-chicken-feed food (table scraps, grass, etc.) they should be provided with grit (or simply access to some sandy soil outside).
