I recently was gifted 2 australop pullets....its been a few weeks and they don't seem to be sure of anything! they are afraid of the coop and wont go in at night....do I need to find an older girl to "mother" them?

Not a good idea.
How old are the pullets, in weeks or months?
Do you have any other chickens?

they are probably around 12wks.....there are only those two, vert bonded sisters

They are ok. Can you place them in the coop at night? Mine understood after two nights.
they wont let me get close ! they are the weirdest hens ever in my 40+ years of chickens and other birds

Install a light in the coop to lure them in at nightfall. Chickens are afraid of the dark and without a light the inside of the coop will be darker than outside.
i might try that....makes sense
