I wish you could have stayed. We were so busy talking I didn't even think to offer you lunch. I apologize. Next time maybe you can come when your sons are out of school and stay for a pool day and lunch.

Henry - I have three 3 month old lambs. They are freisain (milk sheep) crossed with a wool producing sheep. We do plan to sheer them. the male has super thick wool now and my daughter plans to card the wool and learn to spin it. We are considering saving the hide and having it tanned for a bed rug. He was purchased for his large meaty size.

They are skittish but warming up to us day by day.

I have been looking for a tannery which will do that for me. Let me know what you find. As it is, I send my wool to Novia Scotia to be processed. It's awesome because of the high quality craftsmanship... but gets a big F on carbon footprint.

Yum Lamb ! I would love to have a milk sheep I like the idea of freasian sheep will you be keeping ewes and breeding for lambs ? I would love to try milking sheep it sounds really interesting and if you bred dairy sheep ewes to meat type Rams you could use the lambs for meat HMMMMMM ideas ideas My land is going to be crazy when I am older I just have to remember to take it one step at a time.

Post some pictures of the sheep ! and when are the pigs getting there? You should get a bred guilt and then next year you will have all the pork you want! are you planning on letting the pigs out on pasture not with the goats (even I know that most herbivores hate pigs for some reason) but in some fence or are they staying in their room in the poultry barn? I have heard that pork that has been on pasture is great and also they can be used to mix the compost. Have you read any of Joel Slatins books he lives in VA ! ok I need to get back to studying. Sorry to kinda hijack the post I also want to visit some time I have allot to learn !!!

Angie please don't apologize! You certainly didn't have to offer us lunch! Not to mention we'd just had our wonderful Hardees where my card was declined ( called the bank when I got home and they said they had no idea why and $ was available LOL )

I think some people hear about all your wonderful food, preserves and cooking and started thinking about themselves if they ever visited you.

Shea asked all the way home if Steven could come over and play. He loved having a little boy to play with instead of a big brother telling him to go away. The ducks and goslings are doing great.
